Samurais always thought about “life and death”.
1598, Toyotomi Hideyoshi who unified the political factions of Japan was died.
Tokugawa Ieyasu and Ishida Mitsunari became opposed to each other.
The Sanadas (father and 2 son) talked.
Sanada Masayuki (father) and Sanada Yukimura (younger brother) go into Ishida Mitsunari’s army.
Sanada Nobuyuki (elder brother) was Tokugawa Ieyasu’s able subordinate. He 
goes into Tokugawa Ieyasu’s army.
1600, Battle of Sekigahara
Tokugawa Ieyasu won.
Sanada Masayuki (father) and Sanada Yukimura (younger brother) were imprisoned in Kudoyama.
They receive the support from an elder brother.
It seemed to be the very pitiable life.
1611, Sanada Masayuki dies.
Sanada Yukimura studied military tactics and trained the martial art.
1614, the messenger of the Toyotomi army visits him.
“In order to ruin Ieyasu Tokugawa, lend power.”
Sanada Yukimura says like this.
“I get place of death as a samurai”.
He escapes, and he goes into the Toyotomi army.
1614, the Siege of Osaka in Winter
Tokugawa army attacks Osaka Castle of the Toyotomi army.
As for the Tokugawa army, 10,000 people died in one day by Sanada Yukimura’s and others attack.
Tokugawa army attacks with artillery intermittently.
Tokugawa army had the advantage.
Tokugawa Ieyasu proposes.
If you bury moat of castle, I accept to reconciliation.
Toyotomi army accepts it.
And moat of Osaka Castle is buried.
1615, the Siege of Osaka in Summer
Tokugawa army attacks Osaka Castle again.
Tokugawa army: 155000 persons
Toyotomi army: 70000 persons
Sanada Yukimura puts on red armor.
He looked for only Tokugawa Ieyasu.
He finds and attacks Tokugawa Ieyasu.
Taken by surprise, Tokugawa Ieyasu was confused.
However, there were few parties of Sanada.
Although he attacked to Tokugawa Ieyasu, he was not able to kill.
Sanada Yukimura was stabbed by Ieyasu Tokugawa’s vassal with the spear, and died.
Toyotomi lost.
Toyotomi Hideyori (Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s son) kills himself.
Tokugawa Ieyasu says like this after war.
“Although Sanada Yukimura was an enemy, he was a splendid samurai. He may praise.”
Many samurais admired Sanada Yukimura.
Tokugawa Ieyasu dies at the age of 75.
A mystery is often in history.
Other than above, there are some views as follows.
“Ieyasu Tokugawa was stabbed by Sanada Yukimura and died.”
Tokugawa Ieyasu after war may be “general’s double”.
