34.education for disaster prevention

Today, I write about “education for disaster prevention.”
Time of Disaster, Life is most important.
Furthermore, child’s life is most important.
March 11, 2011 the Tohoku Earthquake.
Okawa elementary school in Ishinomaki, there were 108 students and 13 teachers.
School children gathered in the schoolyard.
The tsunami warning was issued.
Many persons thought.
“Tsunami is not attained so far.”

Teachers consulted.
They did not assume tsunami.
They took long time for deciding on an evacuation area.
About 20 children went home with parents.
Teachers and children began to walk toward evacuation area.

Tsunami exceeds levee of river.
They were swallowed up by tsunami.
74 children and ten teachers died.

The Kamaishi elementary school.
In the afternoon on March 11, a school is closed.
There were 184 schoolchildren near a house or the house.
The tsunami warning was issued.
All the schoolchildren took refuge in the high place by judgment of them.
Most of them lost houses.
They are all alive.

They take a lesson of “education for disaster prevention.”
They looked at the image of “the tsunami of Sumatra” in 2004.
They said like this.
“I acted as I was told to.”

A tsunami warning is issued once or twice per year.
However, there was no tsunami for 50 years.
Many people forgot tsunami.

There is Proverb in Japan.
“A natural disaster strikes when people lose their memory of the previous one.”
