19. Haiku

Today, I write about “Haiku (short poetry)”.
There is short poetry called a haiku poem in Japan.
“Haiku “is a three-line poem with seventeen syllables in the pattern of 5-7-5 .
Including a seasonal word in it.
The splendid haiku resembles a splendid picture.
For example, It is a haiku of Matsuo Basho.

閑さや 岩にしみ入る 蝉の声

“Shi zu ka sa ya”
“I wa ni shi mi I ru”
“Se mi no ko e”

“Shi zu ka sa ya” is “What stillness!”
“I wa ni shi mi I ru” is “Penetrate the rocks”
“Se mi no ko e” is “The voices of the cicadas”
Matsuo Basho made this haiku 300 years ago.
Were you able to imagine a scene?
Please look at attached photograph.
Matsuo Basho saw this scenery and made the haiku poem.
The scenery does not still change.
