20.Ninja

Today, I write about “Ninja”.
Ninjya’s roots are Mountains area of Kii Peninsula (between Osaka and Nagoya)
There was called “the mountain where God live”.
There was mountaineering ascetic called “Yamabushi”.
They are said to be Ninjya’s roots.

Sengoku period of the 16th century
They were not dominated.
They fought by “Ninjyutsu” and “the guerilla war”.
However, Oda Nobunaga invaded it by a big army.
They were facing a crisis.

1582, Incident at Honnoji
Akechi Mitsuhide (subordinate of Nobunaga Oda) kills Nobunaga Oda.
Tokugawa Ieyasu was in the crisis.
Tokugawa Ieyasu must pass the area where ninja lives to escape.
Ninjas help Tokugawa Ieyasu.
Tokugawa Ieyasu thanks a ninja very much.

1600s, Edo period
Tokugawa Ieyasu becomes a ruler.
He orders a ninja to perform defense of Edo castle.
It was the peaceful times.

1870s, Meiji period
The samurai’s time was over.
It is said that ninjas became a “policeman” and a “military man.”

The name of a place about a ninja is in Tokyo.
“Hanzoumon”
Hattori Hanzo is a ninja’s chief.
“Hanzoumon” is the circumference of the gate which the Hattori Hanzo was guarding.
Famous ninja is only him.
I mean,Ninja except him were capable.
