62.The day of the silent prayer

Today, I write about ” The day of the silent prayer .”silent prayer
August 15 is the anniversary of the end of World War II.
AM12:00 , There is the following announcement everywhere.
“Please pray silently one minute’s silent tribute to the war dead.”
“Please pray for permanent world peace.”

Then, siren sounds for 1 minute.
Silent prayer is top priority at that time in Japan.
Many people pray silently.

August 15 ,1945 AM12:00, Japanese emperor Hirohito informed people the end of World War II with radio.
“ordered Our Government to communicate to the Governments of the United States, Great Britain, China and the Soviet Union that Our Empire accepts the provisions of their Joint Declaration.”
“It is according to the dictates of time and fate that We have resolved to pave the way for a grand peace for all the generations to come by enduring the unendurable and suffering what is unsufferable.”
Japan changed all from this time.

1940’s, Grandfather on my mother’s side had the work that passes a young man a draft card.
When pass it, he had to say “congratulations.”
When young man go to war, he had to say “Banzai.”
Many young man did not come home.
August 15 ,1945, All changed.

My father wanted to join the navy.
August 15 ,1945, my father’s hope did not come true.

1950’s , Many Japanese were poor and worked hard.
My father’s house was making the dried bonito.
Dried bonito is used for the broth of Japanese meal.
My father was working there.
Father met Mother and married.

1960’s , Japan gradually revived.
However, many Japanese were still poor.
1961, I was born.
I grew up near the sea.
That was a comfortable place.

1970’s , Japan revived.

March 11, 2011, The Great East Japan Earthquake.
Tsunami hits my town.
Fortunately, I did not suffer damage.
However, the dried bonito factory and father’s parents’ home was lost.

I went to temporary evacuation shelter.
The old man said.
“It seems that it is in 1945.”
“Revives again.”

I think so.

The day of the silent prayer was added.
Every year, the siren of a silent prayer sounds at 2:46 p.m. on March 11 in Japan.
Silent prayer is top priority at that time in Japan.
